HOUSING
The Apache women would create family huts named wickiups. They also gathered twigs and brush to create ramadas, a shady place to cook, sew, and care for their children. The women made the wickiups by bending young trees into a type of frame. To protect the frame they put animal skin, leaves, and grass.
